On the surface, the Fast Metal Pioneer looks like just another aluminum based sunglass. In reality though, it represents decades of design experience gained by Ken Wilson, the original founder of Gatorz and Liquid Eyewear.
In creating the Fast Metal brand, Ken has taken the lessons learned from Gatorz and Liquid and designed a frame that represents the best of both.
This means a 7075 T6 aluminum frame for strength and durability, a stronger 30 degree rake with 9 base lenses to eliminate distortion, a patent pending lens mount which allows for fast lens changes all whilst being ANSI Z87.1 certified.
The frames are certainly impressive and finished to an impeccable standard but the lenses deserve a lot of credit on their own.
They look great!
There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, Fast Metal uses 9 base lenses as opposed to 8 base lenses of Gatorz. The benefit here is that 9 base reduces distortion and allows the lenses to be fitted into frames with a stronger rake/bend.
Non-polarized lenses are manufactured in the U.S.A. whilst polarized versions are made in Japan, the best source for high end lenses.
